LaToya Staten has over 9 years of experience in economic and community development, contract/project management, real estate and community outreach. As a certified small business consultant and owner of CamRenz Business Group, LLC., LaToya advises entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations on strategic growth opportunities, staff development, as well as, facilitate several small business, and management training programs

Ms. Staten also serves as the Director of Economic Development for the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore. At the Partnership, Ms. Staten provides small business advocacy in Downtown Baltimore and assists those businesses real estate identification, identification of available resources (workforce, customers, and suppliers), historic preservation, community outreach coordination and project management. She is a major contributor to the State of Downtown market analysis report and manager of the facade improvement program.

Prior to joining the Partnership, Ms. Staten was a part of the founding staff at Neighborhood Ventures in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ms. Staten was responsible for business retention & expansion, community outreach, strategic planning, community revitalization and public and private fundraising. In her efforts at NV, LaToya successfully fund-raised the required matching funds for commercial business district organizing through Michigan's first CDBG neighborhood revitalization strategy area in partnership with Lighthouse Communities.

Ms. Staten’s public service also includes serving on the following boards and committees: Baltimore Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Program Chair, Digit All Systems, Inc., Red Line Station Advisory Committee, National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) Mid-Atlantic Site Visit Coordinator, and the Downtown Partnership Facade Review Committee staff coordinator. LaToya is a graduate of Michigan State University, (B.A. Human Resource and Society with a minor in Sociology) and has received further education in Economic Development through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
